Commercial Manager – Organics & Bio

This client has one of the largest portfolio of biogas and AD facilities across the UK. They are looking to expand their sales team in Organic waste.

Northern Ireland

The Organics Manager will be responsible for the management of contractors and identifying new clients for bio fertiliser to maximise beneficial use and financial return, whilst ensuring full compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities of the role

  • Assist in pricing strategy and promotional activities.
  • Ensure full compliance with all regulatory and Health and Safety requirements.
  • Promote best practice and sustainable use of materials.
  • Interact positively with customers and support operations teams.
  • Managing digestate and compost across the group.
  • Working as team to meet company targets and KPI budgets.Work within Company values and best practices
  • Negotiate and contract with local farmers the supply of biofertiliser
  • Identification and development of storage locations
  • Ongoing management and auditing of contractors including working to budgets, revenue targets and contractual/compliance obligations where relevant
  • Working with key suppliers to derive value, ensure compliance and grow the brand value
  • Demonstrable compliance with applicable environmental and farming regulations
  • Overseeing transport of materials from the sites of production to clients for direct spreading or over-winter storage to a program that allows sites to optimise their operations
  • Ongoing management of accounts including working to budgets, revenue targets and contractual obligations where relevant
  • Advise clients as required to ensure the correct usage of materials supplied. This may be general advice as to the replacement of artificial fertilisers, or more specific agronomic advice to ensure compliance with various certification scheme requirements.
  • Attend internal meetings and external conferences.
  • Must be willing to travel on a regular basis
  • Ensure full compliance with all regulatory and Health and Safety requirements.

Requirements

  • 2 years relevant industry experience
  • Knowledge of AD/Biogas and Feedstock
  • Hold a FACTS qualification which is current and valid as per scheme requirements, or be willing to work towards
  • Have experience in the application of recycled materials to land for agricultural benefit.
  • Honest, approachable, can-do, flexible, consistent, a self-starter able to roll sleeves up as required.

  • Strategic and innovative thinker able to translate ideas into operational and project plans then implement them
  • Resilient in the face of opposition and determined to overcome barriers
