North West England
I’m working with a well-established European energy group that’s expanding its UK renewables team. They’ve developed over 1GW of onshore wind and solar projects across Europe and are continuing to grow their UK presence.
They’re now looking for a Development Planner to help take projects from early concept through to planning consent — someone who enjoys being hands-on with development work and who can bring projects together across environmental, technical, and stakeholder aspects.
The Role
You’ll be involved in all areas of the development process — feasibility, planning applications, grid, land, and stakeholder engagement. It’s a varied position that gives you real ownership over your projects, with the opportunity to work on both wind and solar developments.
What You’ll Be Doing
-
Managing feasibility, planning and development stages for renewable projects
-
Coordinating with consultants, local authorities, and landowners
-
Overseeing EIA and other environmental inputs
-
Supporting project budgets, programmes, and documentation
-
Representing projects in public and community settings
What They’re Looking For
-
Experience in the UK planning system (England or Scotland)
-
Ideally RTPI -affiliated or working towards chartership
-
Background in rural, environmental, or infrastructure development
-
Interest or experience in renewable energy
-
Knowledge of grid and connection processes
-
Great communication and coordination skills
