Aggregates Director – London & Home Counties
A growing organisation within the aggregates and construction materials sector is looking to appoint an experienced, operations-focused Aggregates Director to build, develop and lead its aggregates division across London & the Home Counties.
This is a key leadership appointment for an experienced operational aggregates professional who wants the opportunity to build a division and play a major role in its future growth.
The division currently operates across three sites, with ambitious plans to expand into multiple additional locations over the coming years. The successful candidate will take a hands-on leadership role in developing the existing operation, improving performance and helping establish the operational structure, people and processes required to support significant future expansion.
Key responsibilities:
- Take overall operational responsibility for the aggregates division
- Lead and develop the existing three-site operation
- Drive operational performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability
- Develop and implement consistent operational standards across sites
- Build, manage and develop strong operational teams
- Oversee production, processing, plant, maintenance, logistics and site performance
- Drive health, safety, environmental and regulatory standards
- Identify operational improvements and maximise plant and site utilisation
- Support the development and mobilisation of new sites
- Work with senior management to identify future expansion opportunities
- Help grow the division from three sites into a significantly larger multi-site operation
- Develop the systems, processes and management structure required to support continued growth
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong operational management experience within aggregates, quarrying, recycling or related materials processing
- Proven experience managing multiple operational sites
- A strong understanding of aggregates production, processing, plant and site operations
- Excellent leadership and people-management skills
- A hands-on, practical and solutions-focused approach
- Strong knowledge of H&S, environmental and regulatory requirements
- Experience improving operational performance and developing teams
- The ambition and capability to help build and scale a growing aggregates division
