An established renewable energy company is looking for an Estate Manager to lead all land and property activity across a growing portfolio of onshore energy projects in the UK.

This is a pivotal role responsible for securing land rights from early-stage development through to ready to build, enabling the delivery of wind, solar, and energy storage schemes.

You’ll work closely with senior leadership, project teams, and external advisers to shape land strategies, grow the future development pipeline, and ensure projects are commercially viable and delivered to programme.

Role – What you would be doing

  • Secure land agreements that support development, construction, and long-term operation
  • Lead engagement with landowners and coordinate external land agents and legal advisers
  • Deliver site identification strategies to support future project growth
  • Identify and manage required property agreements, including options, leases, access rights, wayleaves, easements, and environmental management arrangements
  • Negotiate terms that balance risk, quality, and cost
  • Translate contractual obligations into operational delivery and ensure smooth handovers to internal teams
  • Provide specialist land and property advice to project managers
  • Build long-term relationships with landowners, agents, and solicitors
  • Manage transactions in line with project programmes
  • Appoint and oversee external professional advisers
  • Track market conditions to ensure competitive commercial offers
  • Obtain internal approvals for all property documentation
  • Champion health, safety, and wellbeing standards
  • Maintain professional development through CPD and training

Requirements - What We’re Looking For

We’re keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Experience negotiating land and property agreements, ideally within renewable energy, utilities, or infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of commercial and legal considerations in development projects
  • Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • Commercial awareness and attention to risk
  • Strong IT skills, including Excel and project planning tools
  • A degree in Estates Management or a related field
  • Membership of, or progress toward, a recognised professional body such as RICS (general practice, rural, infrastructure, or energy)
