We're seeking a hands-on and enthusiastic Maintenance Fitter to support the smooth operation of our UK-based waste management facility.
Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll maintain and repair essential machinery such as conveyors and excavators, ensuring everything runs safely and efficiently.
- Carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on a range of plant machinery, including conveyor systems, shredders, excavators, and more.
- Diagnosis and Repair: Troubleshoot machinery issues, diagnose faults, and perform necessary repairs, replacements, or adjustments to ensure optimal performance.
- Preventative Maintenance: Implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize equipment breakdowns and downtime.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and environmental standards, including proper waste handling.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of maintenance activities, including logs of inspections, repairs, and spare parts inventory.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other maintenance staff and engineering teams to address complex issues and improve overall plant operations.
Requirements

- Qualifications in plant maintenance, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in plant maintenance, preferably in a waste management or industrial setting.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of heavy plant machinery and associated equipment.
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
