We have an exciting new opportunity to join an existing team with ambitious growth plans in the southwest as an associate or associate partner development surveyor/ planner in our multi-disciplinary London office.
Working as a part of a growing planning and development business serving Bristol, Gloucestershire, Somerset and the wider southwest region, the role offers a variety of consultancy, agency and strategic land work, and will allow you to actively contribute to the growth and direction of the Bristol team. The role will play a key part in the overall team, working closely with both the Planning and Development partners in the wider business and will be responsible for growing the team around them.
Role
You will provide clear advice on infrastructure development projects, and strategic development land for private and public sector clients, including private landowners, institutions, and corporate clients.
- Generate fees by handling various planning and development matters, enhancing existing client relationships, and securing new clients.
- Handle all matters associated with strategic and immediate development land opportunities and assist clients with the delivery of development projects.
- Disposal and acquisition of strategic land and immediate development opportunities.
- Advising on planning and development strategies, including formal reports and assessment of alternative land use values.
- Undertaking development appraisal work, including the identification of development opportunities.
- Providing valuation advice on land and property assets, including financial appraisal of development sites.
- Supporting negotiations of development agreements such as promotion, option, joint venture, and conditional contracts.
Requirements
- RICS Chartered Surveyor OR RTPI Planning: Post-qualification experience within development consultancy and agency.
- Experience and Knowledge: Demonstrated experience in development appraisals, advisory, and disposal work.
- Team Player: Excellent team player with forward-thinking abilities, able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to develop client relationships and support internal colleagues.
- Collaboration: Work alongside an established team of planning consultants and with our Head of Planning in Bristol.
- Reporting: Report to partners responsible for development services across the wider southern region.
- Driving License: Full driving license required for regular site visits.
