We have a great opportunity to join our client who are leading the way in waste management across the UK & EU.
As Plant Manager you'll be responsible for assisting with the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective services in municipal, industrial, and hazardous waste markets. You'll be overseeing our clients large energy from waste plant that provides power across tens of thousands of homes.
Main Role & Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage installations to meet budgetary and emissions targets.
- Ensure 100% availability as per budget and operate at maximum capacity.
- Efficiently manage shutdowns, adhering to specified timelines.
- Facilitate and implement continuous improvements effectively.
- Maintain high maintenance standards.
- Manage relationships with relevant authorities.
- Ensure the plant is staffed with competent and well-trained personnel.
- Develop and motivate the team for continuous improvement.
- Provide appropriate and sufficient training for all staff.
- Exhibit leadership and professionalism at all times.
Qualifications & Experience Required
- Preferred: Degree in Engineering.
- Beneficial: Additional degree in Business Management or equivalent experience.
- Beneficial: Master’s degree or the ability to think at this level.
- Required: Over 5 years of managerial experience in industries such as waste management, power generation, mining, steam plant, or petrochemicals.
- Strong skills in people management.
- Experience with safety and environmental management systems.
- Knowledge and experience in continuous processes (e.g., metallurgy, power generation, cement industry, petrochemicals).
- Business acumen.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders.
- Understanding of environmental legislation and policy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft software suite.
- Beneficial: Experience with SAP or any ERP system.
