North West England
A leading consultancy in the infrastructure property sector has retained our client to recruit a Senior Surveyor for its expanding North West based Team.
This specialist northern team supports major organisations operating across infrastructure, utilities and energy, working on nationally significant projects for high-profile operators across transmission, renewables, highways and transportation. The successful individual will join a collaborative group delivering strategic land and property advice across a diverse portfolio.
The Opportunity
The appointed Senior Surveyor will take on a wide-ranging role supporting complex infrastructure schemes, with responsibility for advising clients, managing negotiations and overseeing junior colleagues. The position offers clear scope for progression into leadership and senior management, alongside access to structured training programmes and professional development initiatives.
The work spans multiple property types — from coastal and agricultural land to commercial, industrial and residential assets — allowing individuals either to specialise or to cultivate a broad technical skillset.
Key Responsibilities
- Negotiating land acquisition agreements, options and heads of terms
- Managing landowner, occupier and stakeholder relationships
- Handling disturbance and compensation claims following project works
- Securing access rights across third-party land
- Advising on injurious affection matters linked to electricity and utility schemes
- Identifying and developing new business opportunities
- Supporting continuous improvement of systems, processes and technology
- Ensuring compliance with legislation, policy and professional standards
- Maintaining professional conduct in line with RICS or relevant governing bodies
Candidate Profile
Our client is seeking a driven and commercially minded professional, ideally RICS qualified or with significant experience in infrastructure, utilities or the energy sector. Exposure to rural estates or mixed-use portfolios would be advantageous, given the nature of certain projects.
Applicants should demonstrate:
- Strong knowledge of relevant property and infrastructure legislation
- Excellent analytical and negotiation skills
- A proactive approach to professional development
- The ability to build new client relationships while nurturing existing ones
- A collaborative mindset with confident interpersonal skills
- The capacity to engage effectively with landowners, agents and senior stakeholders
Given the dynamic nature of infrastructure delivery, adaptability and resilience in a fast-moving environment are essential. Regular travel forms part of the role, therefore a full UK driving licence is required.
