£45,000-55,000

Our client is a leading renewable energy developer and asset management business headquartered in London, with a strong focus on the UK and European markets.

The company develops, constructs, and operates low-carbon energy projects and infrastructure.  With a growing pipeline of projects, including 300 MW of solar and battery developments scheduled for construction over the next two years, the business is expanding its delivery team.

We are seeking a Solar Construction Project Planner to oversee the full lifecycle of solar projects — from initial design and planning through to construction and commissioning.

Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Manage projects through all stages — design, construction, commissioning, and handover.
  • Budget & Schedule Management: Develop project designs, cost estimates, and procurement plans to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Resource Coordination: Plan and manage resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials. Coordinate effectively with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as the main point of contact between internal teams, engineers, suppliers, and Distribution Network Operators (DNOs).
  • Health, Safety & Quality: Ensure full compliance with SHEQ standards through site visits, risk assessments, and active monitoring of site performance.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate project records, track progress, and prepare regular updates for senior stakeholders.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Experience or a strong interest in project planning and management within construction or renewable energy (Solar/ BESS).
  • Excellent team coordination and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across disciplines.
  • A degree in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline is desirable but not essential. Candidates with higher technical qualifications (HNC, HND, or T Level) in a construction or project management field are encouraged to apply.
  • Technical knowledge of solar PV systems and construction processes.
  • Commercial and contractual awareness, particularly around large-scale energy or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong planning and scheduling capability, ideally using project management software or scheduling tools.

This role offers excellent progression opportunities into Senior Planner or Project Management positions within a growing renewable energy business.
